Noel Gallagher quits Oasis—why?!

The two brothers got in fights all the time... but after all these years something finally happened to make Noel Gallagher quit Oasis. He says he can't work with Liam one day longer. What, exactly happened???

According to an AP Article that quotes a letter that Gallagher wrote to his fans:

The posting says "the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable." Gallagher offers no details about what the intimidation was, and doesn't specify who was responsible.
