This is a website that allows you to make your own radio station. You can put in several bands/artists, genera etc. and it will personalize a radio station for you.
It also tells you the names of artists that are similar to the bands that you put in. I would start there if you are looking for music similar to Punjabi. Plus you get to listen to a sample of their music before going out and buying the CD or downloading the music. Good luck :D

Have you tried pandora.com. This is a website that allows you to make your own radio station. You can put in several bands/artists, genera etc. and it will personalize a radio station for you.

thanks for your suggestion, hushnow! However, I wanted something more personal/human than Pandora. I figured that a human will give me their top 3 or 5 songs/artists and will save me some time from listening to many songs in Pandora ; )
