In what other countries do you think Obama would be elected president(or PM, etc.) if he ran and the nationality requirement was waived?

This is a very hypothetical question by the way.
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I do not think he would be voted president in many other nations. Certainly not in the country of his heritage, Kenya. Political parties here are like clans/ethnic groups in Kenya, and his grandfather was part of a minority ethnic group: the Luo. The Luo are the third largest ethnic group (13%) in Kenya, after the Kikuyu (22%) and the Luhya (14%), but Obama would simply not have the support. The Luo are also present in Uganda and Tanzania, and since you are born into these clans/tribes/ethnic groups, Obama would be at a massive disadvantage. One can relate this to our country putting a Muslim for president. Overwhelming biases exist, so it most likely would not happen.

Obama also stands for things that completely trample over the customs/traditions of many other African societies. Just for holding democratic values, things wouldn't work out. He might have a shot in South Africa though.

Communist countries would see him as being not far enough to the left of the political spectrum. Fascists and authoritarian governments would obviously think he's too far to the left, since fascism is to the far right of the political spectrum.

Thus, he wouldn't be elected in most of Africa, many Asian and southeast Asian countries (Koreas, Vietnam, China, Laos, etc), or Russia. However, he obviously appeals to many Europeans, so he might have a shot of winning there. Then again, he has no experience in-depth with the laws and customs and values of any foreign nation as much as the native-born peoples. It would be extremely tough, wherever else he looked. His lack of experience in European nations' laws would ruin him. Anywhere.

I hope I helped; have a great day!!!!

One other issue I forgot to mention: language barriers. It would be a problem if someone ruled a nation and could not understand anyone : )

I really dont think any at this point. I believe he would be a liability to any
country even considering him. There are too many nations upset with the
things that have happened in the past and are continuing to happen as I type.
Well, at least lets pray no one votes him in....................
