To clarify, subsequent comments to a comment that I make on a question I did not ask nor answer should show up in my recent activity?

It might be a nice feature, but the objection here is the same as the objection to threading comments. Threaded comments tend to promote a back and forth argument between two people that diverges from the original subject. Lacking threads, the back and forth gets diluted with new comments on the original subject. Notification of a comment on your comment would sorta promote the same unproductive dynamic.
this would make a nice enhancement, don't you think?
