In the movie "Across the Universe" is the bar scene during "Hey Jude" a continuity error, a revealing mistake, or an anachronism?
In the movie "Across The Universe" there is a scene at the end where both Jude and Max are sitting in a bar having a drink.
Max in New York.
Jude in Liverpool.
At the beginning of the scene the bartender tell Max its last call.
Last call in a New York bar is anywhere between 2-6am.
Now how can Jude be sitting in a bar with other patrons in the background, drinking a beer if England is easily 6 hours ahead of New York.
He even walks out and its clear as day.
Was he drinking at 8-10am?
(I know the entire song ends up with Jude hopping on a plane and ending up in NY, but that initial scene at the bar is portrayed as happening at the same moment in time)

Yes, he's drinking in the morning. Or it's not actually going on at the same time; the two characters just happen to be imagining each other as they drink in a bar in two seperate places at two seperate times. Across the Universe plays around with reality a lot, so it's best not to actually think about it too much.
