In the 90s I knew my HTML...Now I need to catch up with the times and learn PHP. Where should I start?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Catching up on HTML:
1. Take a look at w3schools : http://www.w3schools.com/htmL/
2. Learn CSS: http://www.w3schools.com/css/ http://www.mahalo.com/CSS
3. At least learn some Javascript: http://www.mahalo.com/JavaScript

Learn PHP:
1. There are a lot of tutorials available online. I would recommend: PHP 101. You can find all the links here: http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/627
2. If you like videotutorials you have a look here: http://blog.themeforest.net/screencasts/diving-into-php-video-series/
3. Ask questions on forums / IRC / twitter. There are a lot of people out there willing to help.
4. Get a good PHP book ( not like a PHP 4 Dummies, but a real book).
5. Write code, write everyday. It's the only way you'll get familiar with PHP. Write PHP until you dream in PHP ;-) Seriously.
6. Learn a PHP framework like codeigniter / zend framework / cakePHP / symfony

And if you have more questions just ask me:

I would suggest w3schools site. It is free online web development tutorial. It covers the most basic web development tutorial. It covered php tutorial too.
