Thats a great point, as the price would vary as to the people they grabbed it from A corrupt regime might hook up a terrorist "non grata" and make it look like a theft while some hard liners might want top dollar! Perhaps the terrorists would have competitive buyers and have to outbid other no gooders?? (this is why fiction isn't written by commission!)
also, I re-read my response and want to point out my own error: the fat man bomb had 6.2 KG not grams but kilograms of fissile material.
The group is very connected. They are partially funded by Iran.
I have written that the plutonium is almost ready to be put into a weapon, but the terrorist group decides to sell it as it is instead of putting the finishing touches on it and making a bomb.
I wouldn't want to even google this stuff!

There was 6.2g in the Fat Man device usad at Nagasaki. At $4000 a gram, that would be 24.8 million dollars. For a formed core on the black market? 2-3 times that? Sounds like plot embellishment for ya'
