In Google Analytics, why do I sometimes get visits where Avg. Time is 0.00.00?

It doesn't seem possible.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This can happen with web analytics because to esitmate the length of time spent there have to be at least two measurable, trackable events. e.g. The time the page was first loaded, and a later click on a link. The time between the last trackable action by the user and their leaving the page is unknown.

so it basically means the person came to the page, looked at it, and then left?

Yes, that's what we'd assume. It's also the case that when people look at multiple pages you usually won't know how long they spent on the last one because there is no trackable event to tell you they were done.
