Hey :D
To ride a chocobo in Final Fantasy 13, you need to have completed Mark mission 12 and Mark Mission 14. Once you complete mission 12, the chocobos show up in the map as feathers (in the Grand Pulse area). But you can’t ride them just yet! They walk away from you, and so you need to complete Mark mission 14 to get reins!
Mark missions 12 and 14 can be found in Archylte Steppe area. There are 64 Cie'th Stones in this area, and two of these stones will lead you Arid Strath and Western Branchland respectively. Mission 12 can be found near the pond in Arid Strath. Mission 14 is in the Western Branchland area. Once you complete these missions, you can ride Chocobos in the Grand Pulse area only. You just have to walk up to them and hit the ride option when it comes up!
