I'm thinking about getting a pet. Any suggestions for condo friendly dogs?

Most condos have a dog weight limit of 40 to 30 pounds or less.
That would make it great for a Shi Tzu, or even a Boston Terrier!

I currently have a Chihuahua, but I would like to have a Boston Terrier at some point in the future.
(Boston Terriers are the only breed of dog that were specifically bred for comapnionship)

I have a chihuahua mix, and he's a great dog for our apartment. I would also suggest a boston terrier or a pug. Whatever you choose, make sure that you are completely positive you're ready for a dog. http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/Five-Things-to-Consider-Before-Getting-a-Dog.697643 It may seem silly but so many people get a dog without thinking about all that goes into owning one.

Shi Tzus are the best. They are extremly cute and dont weigh more than 20 pounds. They require a bath about every other week but theres nothing better than a clean puppy to snuggle. They are sweet and protective, my dog Tye is one of the best dogs I have ever had. Hes just as much of a companion as my lab I used to have plus hes portable.Hope this helps.

Have you thought about a rabbit? Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs (chi-weenie and a lab), but rabbits are awesome. You don't have to worry about taking them outside, as they do their business in litter boxes. They all have different personalities, will come when called (if they want to) and love human companionship. Visit www.rabbit.org for more info.

As far as dogs go, try a shelter or local rescue. These dogs are already spayed and neutered for you and usually house trained. You might find the perfect little dog and it might be a total mutt, but your perfect companion. They also have a variety of pure bred dogs, previously purchased by families who couldn't or didn't want to care for them. Basing your decision totally on a pure bred animal really limits your decision, as there are thousands needing homes in shelters and rescues, just like cats and rabbits!
