I'm taking a trip from Indiana to Texas. What are some sites that I could stop and see along the way?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Sun Studio - you can even record there!

Neely's Interstate Barbecue - try the BBQ spaghetti - trust me! My boyfriend and I shared the $16 Sampler Platter, got VERY full and packed some up for the road.

Graceland - kind of pricey, but you can do a "drive-by"

Depending on your schedule - is this a leisurely trip or "must get to my destination by...?" - a beautiful drive from Memphis is Highway 61 South. It follows the Mississippi River Delta and you could pick up I-20 at Vicksburg and head west through Louisiana to Shreveport to get back on track.
Highway 61 highlights - and yes, it's "that" Highway 61 thank you Mr. Bob Dylan!
Tunica, MS - if you're into casinos

Clarksdale, MS - Delta Blues Museum and more

Vicksburg National Military Park

During your travel, the cotton harvest should be getting into full swing. Get off the beaten path - you won't really have to go far to see bales of cotton the size of semi-trailers lining the roads. For a girl raised in corn and soybean farmland, it was kind of interesting to me!
Enjoy your trip!

M$Or, if you want to see a town that got bailed out by the governernment, you could swing by Pincher, Oklahoma, where you'll see what happens to a booming mining town half a century later. Of course, just across the state line from Pincher, Oklahoma is Treece, Kansas - a town attempting to get their own bailout.

Graceland is a great idea. I've been there and enjoyed it and I did not think it was necessarily pricey. You can choose to do more or less. Seeing the inside of Graceland - the actual house is a must, I'd say. The plane was pretty interesting too. The grave site can be packed if you're there around the anniversary of Elvis' death.
