You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Excellent answer.
Apple has two main release dates in the year:
1. Mac World San Francisco, when all new macs are released.
2. World Wide Developers Conference, when Apple brags about whatever next thing is going to happen to OS X, and usually involves releasing an updated product, and every other year something new.
You can always count with a lot of new product announcements for MWSF in January, and most of the times something interesting happens in WWDC. Apart from those two big dates, Apple releases minor updates every 3-4 months. For example, they would announce a Mac Book that is identical to its previous model but with a slightly bigger hard drive, more default memory, etc. If it is an iPod, they may announce the same one but with more storage.
