I'm new to Mahalo. Basically, what should I do?

Tip for best answer: M$1.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I like to explain that there are three different corners of Mahalo.

Currently, you are on Mahalo Answers, this is the community hub, as you can see people can ask and answer questions about Mahalo and everything else, best answers are rewarded with tips. These two links should help the most.
How Mahalo Answers Works

This is where most users get started and get acquainted with Mahalo. You can earn some good pocket change, but if your looking to earn rake in the big bucks look into Task building and Page Management.

If you are an aspiring writer or even just looking for a challenge I recommend Mahalo Tasks these are small pieces of writing and research that need to be done to improve Mahalo. Generally there are weekly contests associated with task building, certainly something to keep your eyes peeled for. Here is the most helpful page, How Mahalo Tasks Works.

If you are interesting in steady earnings and the challenge of building top-class human curated search results you could look into Page Management - You can claim Mahalo search results and earn 50% of the ad revenue, already over 100 users have earned over M$50 doing this, the top of the leaderboard shows incredible earnings. Some helpful pages to help you with that include, How to Build a Mahalo Page and Mahalo Page Management Guide.

Start by answering questions that you have some knowledge about and you can find pages that you can claim and manage or create your own from scratch. I started with topics I was really interested in or had a lot of knowledge about then you can branch out from there. I found that the quality of my pages is better if I am genuinely interested in that issue that way I can create the best page that I can and it will be fun for me to keep up with new information on that topic. This helps because it won't seem like work to maintain the pages. I find it entertaining and satisfying as well. Hope that helps.

As you answer questions you may find that you have questions of your own so just jump in there and ask questions. It is the best way to get to know members on this site. Everyone is friendly and welcoming so don't be shy. Welcome! There are several newbies here so you are not alone ;)
