I'm looking for scrapbook-invitation-ideas for my 17th birthday (this june). I wonder if anyone has an idea for a topic ?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It would be easier to come up with invitation ideas if you already had a theme picked. Here are some themes that I think would be fun:

beach/luau party -beach themed invites would be really fun and easy to make. You could use real sand on the page. A neat technique is to use stickers to spell words on sand coloured paper, then glue real sand all around the letters. When you remove the letters it looks like you have wrote your message in the sand. You could do that on the bottom, then have a palm tree or whatever on the upper part of the paper.

rockstar party, ask everyone to dress up and play rockband or do karoake. Make guitar shaped invites or backstage VIP pass invites.

Once you decide on your theme, let me know and I can give you more ideas for invites.

I guess I would have given more information on my issue if I actually knew the question would be directed to this website ^^

Thx for all the helpful and unique ideas, they are awesome and I believe it would be great fun to have such kind of parties! The idea with the letters "written in the sand" sounds like a lot of fun and even though I may not include it in this year's invitations, I will try it for another occasion later.

In fact, I actually decided on taking my friends to a restaurant instead of having a real party but I will welcome my friends at home, so we'll have a welcome-drink in the beginning and maybe some little games later on... so my theme may influence my decorations, too. Since I'm taking my friends out for dinner, I thought about something like 'Black and White' as my theme so all my friends could come dressed in black and white. I know the idea isn't creative but it hasn't been used here before, so it kind of just popped up in my mind. Another great thing would be something like a 'Murder Mystery' or other riddles, just to make the whole evening more fun. I could also imagine me going for the whole rockstar/ or movie star theme, anything that would make my scrapbook invitations stand out.

I haven't decided on the restaurant yet, so I will keep the whole beach-idea in mind - depending on the location it might just fit perfectly.

I hope the information help you to give me some imspiration for my invitations.

I think the answers so far are pretty good. hmm, other ideas... If you have a few ideas, you could google them. Like, if you want to have an idea about beach stuff, you could google "beach themed invitation ideas", and you'd get some pretty good stuff. have fun,

I can tell you that for my daughters 16th I built a sandbox outside and did a tiki beach theme. She was allowed to invite 16 friends. I then reserved laser tag for a few hours so they could all have fun with nobody but friends. The biggest deal was I gave each of them a disposable camera to do with what they wanted and developed the film the next day that was the best part. Oh yeah and most of the spent the night. funny stuff

I love the idea with the disposable camera, unfortunately they're pretty hard to get here ... but I will definitely take as most cameras to my party as possible ! If I decide on something like a Hollywood-theme or stuff, pictures of cameras or an actual filmstrip would also look great on my invitations, so thank you so far !
