I'm looking for a comic book written by a writer that is just as good as Neil Gaiman. Any suggestions?

If you haven't read "Watchmen" by Alan Moore, it's a great and sophisticated read, much like "Sandman."
I still think one of the best graphic novels ever is "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller. This is the story of a much older Bruce Wayne returning to his guise as Batman. Clark Kent is also a critical character in this amazing story. It also features a girl Robin.
As for more recent work, if you're a fan of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" or "Angel," you should be aware that they have continued, officially, in comic books. The Buffy series is called "Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Season 8." The "Angel" series is essentially season 6 of "Angel," but is called "Angel, After the Fall" for the first phase, and is now "Angel, Aftermath." Many issues of the "Buffy" series were written by Buffy creator, Joss Whedon, and the rest under his direction by authors he hand picked.
Happy reading!
