I'm having trouble getting adequate volume on my podcasts! What's the problem?
I am using GarageBand to record podcasts, and am having trouble getting an output file that has adequate volume. When I play back my mix in Garage Band its plenty loud, but when I export the file to mp3 and play it back with exactly the same speaker settings (never changed them), the volume is substantially lower. I've tried pushing the gain way up in Garage Band, which seems to increase the volume in the app without affecting the final volume of the recorded track.
The only thing that might be an issue is that I am using the SoundSoap plugin on my voice track to get rid of some static.
Any ideas?

This is a pretty common issue I run into in GarageBand. Check out this Apple help doc...http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=GarageBand/4.0/en/6560.html
I found "Turn on the Auto Normalize feature in GarageBand Advanced preferences." seems to help the most! Hope this helps!
