I'm going to Australia in January. When is the best time to buy tickets?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

At the moment Australia is one of the only booming Western nations and we have a skyrocketing dollar. This is amplified by the US and Euro debt crises and residue from the Global financial crisis.
The AUD is sitting at 110 US cents, up from 75ish, meaning tickets now will cost nearly twice as much as they did a few years before you asked the question.
January is a good time though (as you probably know by now) right in the middle of summer and in the school holidays so there are more festivals and concerts.
