I'm getting a reasonable amount of traffic coming through my website. How can I get more people to vote and comment?
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

One way to encourage people to interact and participate is to offer occasional incentives for providing feedback and commenting.
One blog I frequent will offer a free t-shirt every now and then for the 'best' comment on a particular post. Perhaps you could do something similar. Depending on what exactly your website is, you could offer a small reward that is somehow related to the subject matter of your site.
Another way is to simply ASK questions in order to prompt discussion. Many websites/blogs/etc. anticipate and expect reader participation on articles and entries, but don't realize that people aren't always compelled to add their opinion when it's not asked for and the material is simply a series of statements. So, on a blog, after you had written your piece, you might say 'What do you all think? Is ________ as great as it sounds?' or something along those lines. This isn't necessarily blog exclusive either, this could easily be done on a regular website as well.
The fact is, customers, readers, and everyone else that falls into a similar category are all about reaping rewards. They come to your site now because they find valuable information there. Now they just need to find the value in commenting and leaving their opinion, whether it be a tangible reward, or simply knowing that their opinion is actually desired and appreciated.
