I'm fully versed on AP style citation BUT does anyone know anything about AP style proofreading?!? Google doesn't... why would you?!? :)

Do you mean AP(Associated Press) or APA(American Psychological Association)? Google has lots of references for APA style proofreading. Amazon has a book on AP style including standard editing notation.
