If you won an all expense paid vacation to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Bonus points if you can find a Mahalo page on your paid vacation!

I've always wanted to go to Alaska!

I recently came to know about a resort called Poseidon Undersea Resort located in Fiji Islands. They have 24 suites with magnificent view of the ocean life, which are situated 40 feet underwater. This suite is named based on the Greek God of Sea : Poseidon.

http://www.architectura.kiev.ua/data/upload/img/articles/futurehotel/image013.jpg

It is always my dream to spend atleast one night underwater watching all the fishes and other species traveling by the suite. It is a unique environment and would be a unforgettable moment in my life.

Here is a small sketch to show the structure of the suites and the resort.

I just noticed @irishstephen also wanted to visit the same place I chose. I have a partner to enjoy by the way. :D

This is tough, I really want to see many places. BUT, I would take my 4 year old daughter to Disney World and stay at one of the top resorts there. She talks about going all of the time. She loves Disney Princesses and I think it would be pretty magical for her to have breakfast with Cinderella! She also loves going to the beach as well, so I think going to Florida would be a perfect family vacation. She wanted to go this summer, but it didn't work out and she's a little disapointed, making her happy by picking a vacation for her would be important to me. Also I love Disney, so I think I'd have some fun too!

Ever since I saw Under the Tuscan sun I have wanted to go to Tuscany.

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e353/Salsaminx/Under.jpg

I have never been out of North America but one day I would love to go. I have watched this movie so many times especially when I get stressed and need to relax. When we moved into our new house I even painted and decorated with reds and rust colors that are representative of Italy and this has greatly improved my mood. My husband is afraid if I ever go to Italy that I might not want to come back ;) What a great place to escape to. I love how relaxed their lifestyle is and their love for life and passion. Just thoughts about Italy helps me get through my stressful days!!

I've never put much stock in hotel rooms. Travel is truly about the location and the people that you're with. I've highlighted 3 shockingly expensive hotels, but Tokyo, Geneva and Thailand are high on my travel destination list.

I would really like to go to Tokyo and stay at the Ritz-Carlton in the Presidential Suite. There's a lot that I'd like to see in Tokyo.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2213/3883913001_82e465b07b.jpg

If Tokyo wasn't an option, I would go to Geneva and stay at The Royal Penthouse Suite in the President Wilson Hotel. Geneva and Switzerland in general are interesting and centralized locations.
http://karmatrendz.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/hotel_royal_penthouse_suite_president_wilson_hotel_geneva_01.jpg

I'm not much of a "sit on the beach" guy, but while touristy, I'd like to see Thailand and Phuket looks like a nice place to start. I'd arrange a series of beach houses.

I've always wanted to go to Fiji - There's a resort there that has individual rooms that look like huts that sit literally over the water. You can just look down and see the fish and just get in touch with the ocean. Beaches, great food and drinks, wonderful people, a completely different midset and culture... Sounds like my kind of place.

Couldn't find a pic of the resort, but I think you'll get the idea here:

I choose Caracas, Venezuela. Five years ago we had the privilege to welcome a delightful young man into our home as an exchange student for an entire school year. In the process we got to meet and know his (rather large) extended family and they are wonderful folks.

When I am chosen to go on my Caracas Vacation, I will be staying in Caracas Hotels and eating at Caracas Restaurants.

I would spend my free time on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. And I would be in the company of some of the world's most beautiful women. Venezuelan women have won more beauty contests than any other country.

http://www.timepassguru.com/2009/08/miss-venezuela-wins-2009-miss-universe.html

If I got tired of sleeping in fine hotels, eating fine food, and laying on beautiful beaches with beautiful women, I could watch some of the best baseball in the world.

I'm afraid I would find a way to cheat if I were offered an all expense paid package trip.

I have traveled to Europe and parts of the Middle East. I have also been to most of the typical vacation spots from the US (Mexico and Hawaii).
Even though I traveled quite a bit when I was younger, there are still too many places on my list to just pick one.

I would call up Cunard and book a world cruise.
http://www.cunard.com/wc2010/?gclid=CKzTkNXZ1ZwCFVhJ2godk22zKg
When I was still a travel agent, I had the opportunity to spend a day on the Queen Mary while she was in port in SF and fell in love.

It would fulfill my travel bug for good since I want to visit China, India, Australia, South Africa and all the places in between. The ports in these countries would offer interesting perspectives too.

The world is my potato chip, I can't pick just one!

I would focus on the "expenses paid" clause in your question. There are lots of places I have been and lots that I have yet to visit, but I can afford the ones mentioned so far (not the fancy hotels, just getting to the locations and a budget hotel or camping!) But I have long had the goal of visiting all seven continents (I count seven like most Americans). I have three to go. South America should not be hard to visit although I've been living not that far away for years without getting there. Australia is a long way and expensive, but it should be manageable when the time is right. But I just can't see how I could afford to visit Antarctica. So that would be my choice for an "expenses paid" vacation.

Why visit Antarctica? Beautiful, unique scenery. Great wildlife, much of it quite tame. Amazing photo ops. And best of all, penguins!

I've been all around the world on business travel over the past 10 years including Tokyo, Sydney, Paris, London, China, Korea, Spain, Norway, Denmark and Athens.

However, I've never been to Africa. So, I'm going to have to say that going on an all-expense paid Safari would be my choice. A close second would be South America, the other major landmass I haven't set foot in.

Can you imagine seeing the battle at krugar live?!?!

This was my exact answer...I've always thought going to Africa, and then on a safari, would really be the ultimate vacation. Visiting major cities with lots of things to do is always a treat, but it never really feels like "getting away from it all." The pace of life continues as usual.

But on safari, you're utterly removed from your normal routine and plunged into a strange wildnerness. Plus, I'd love to see all these incredible animals in their natural habitat, rather than in a zoo or wild animal park.

I'd also love to go to Australia. Not sure why. It has just always intrigued me. Plus they love beer and speak English.

I went to Alaska back in 2003, and it's totally worth the trip. I hope you get to go some day. The water was so blue, the air so clean and crisp. The glaciers - wow. We took a train ride all around Anchorage, and it was just gorgeous.

If I could go anywhere I wanted to go, I think I'd like to see New Zealand. A lot of movies are filmed on location in New Zealand, and the countryside is just gorgeous. I've been told it's beautiful there, and I'd really like to see it some day.

I would stay right here in America! I would go on a "North American Road Trip" without any specific destination. It would start in early Spring from Sacramento, CA (where I live), hop in my convertible with my two dogs, and head south, stopping whenever I see a part of America that I think would be interesting, but not necessarily a tourist spot. I believe America has so much to offer in the way of scenery, history, and rich culture contributed by our diverse population. There are so many "nooks and crannies" that are overlooked by travel agencies and advertisement, places yet undiscovered.

If i won an all expense paid vacation i would definitely take a cruise to alaska. If that wasnt an option my second choice would be australia. I recently found pictures of australia and think that it is an absolutely beautiful place to visit.
Sure, the flight down under is long, but the stunning natural beauty and vibrant local cultures of Australia and the Pacific Islands are well worth the trip.
I would definitely stay in Sydney because it is known for its laidback lifestyle. It is all known for the emerald city boasts (two of the most recognizable structures in Oz), the sydney opera house, and the sydney harbour bridge.
The other stop i wouldnt miss while on my australia vacation is the great barrier reef. This reef is the only living structure visible from outer space, i would also love to do snorkelling, in the great barrier reef.

I hope this helps:)

I would like to visit what is called the most luxurious resort in the world, the BURJ AL ARAB which is located in Dubai.

The hotel is a 321 metres high sail-like structure built on a man made island. Guests are picked up either in a private Rolls-Royce fleet or a helicopter that drops you on the 28th floor roof of the hotel. There is a dedicated butler on call around the clock. You have a private shopper, dining under the sea and stars and lavishly appointed duplex suites with private business facilities, sci-fi technology, plasma screens, rain shower and Jacuzzi in every bedroom.
The hotel's " top" restaurant is cantilevered over the Persian Gulf, and at the other extreme is an underwater restaurant which is accessed via a submarine voyage and separated from the marine life by a 7.1" thick plate of acrylic glass. Both these restaurants have received high critical acclaim

There's the Assawan Spa & Health Club, oriental massage spectacular fireballs and waterfalls choreography, gold plated opulence and a marvellous circular ballroom.

Florida, the best place on Earth, so beautiful, so relaxing, many theme parks and tourist attractions, I absolutely love that place. I have visited Florida on two occasions and thoroughly loved both of them. I am from the United Kingdom and our food tastes different and comes in different portions, I must admit, the UK misses out on a lot, Ben and Jerry's whipped ice cream, Mountain Dew, Cheetos, awesome theme parks (Our theme parks are really bad compared to American ones) and much more. The theme parks were the best part of the holidays, the rides were amazing, huge and uncomparable to British rides. I love rides and aren't scared of any of them and the effort they put into them in Florida is immense, yes the lines are huge but at least they provide entertainment and fantastic scenery to keep you occupied, they even have storylines to the ride. Another thing I loved was the shopping facilities like Wal-Mart and the Florida mall, in my hometown we have an Asda and a shopping center, both put to shame by the American alternatives. The trips were so expensive for all the activities we participated in, the locations we visited and our occomedation (A villa with a swimming pool both times that was more enjoyable than my home) and on an all expenses paid trip it would make it just all that little bit better.

I live in Cape town South africa and if I won an all expenses paid trip to anywhere in the world I would stay right here. All in one location you get the best beaches in the world, Awesome hikes and scenic mountain views of the city an beaches. World class hotels, shopping and restaurants. There is nothing that any tourist cant scratch of their list of to dos besides skiing because the weather is so awesome.

You can go shark cage diving, water skiing, surfing, diving and any other type of water sport you can think of.

The hikes and game drives are honestly 2nd to none in the world.

The night life is also fantastic, there are clubs and pubs to suit anyones taste.

Seriously ! You traveled until you have come to cape town. It is the most exciting city in the world.

If you have been told that there is a lot of crime thats BS i have lived here for 28 years and have never been a victim of crime in any way !

Come to Cape Town South Africa !

FYI: the 2010 world cup will be here if soccer is your cup of tea !

Best sunrise and sunset in the entire world. Also best dance clubs anywhere.

Since I found an enlightened guru from India I would definitely go to learn and practice all different types of yoga with his guidance and achieve spiritual enlightenment since it is the highest joy one can experience. I would stay there for a few months or years. This kind of vacation. If you learn yoga properly you can get as much money for your later travels or anything else as you want and achieving most of any other goals imaginable becomes tremendously easier. So why not to use this opportunity?

I would go to Porto Alegre Brazil. The people there are so amazing when I run into them on the games I play.
The land is beautiful also and it just seems an awesome place to visit.

Do I have to choose just one place? Well for one place I would go to Japan since I am in love with anything Japanese from cars to food to culture. I would probably choose Kyoto as the city.
