If you were sentenced to die, what would be your last meal?

Let's assume you are a death row inmate sentenced to die, with no chance of appeal. It is your last night on Earth. What would be your last meal? Would it be something extravagant or something simple? What would you have to drink with your meal?

Since it is my last night on earth, and it won't really matter if I don't finish, I am going for the full 20/21-course dinner(which should consist of mostly small courses and take place from afternoon to night). If possible, I'd request some drink accompaniments, though it may be too much research to look for specific wines here as well. Also, since it's my last night, why not go for ingredients that most people might normally avoid because they are very rare, are very expensive, would make them sick, would have long-term health effects like obesity or high cholesterol, or could kill them.

(I won't go into full recipes because of space/time, but let me know if you'd like any of them....I could also try drink suggestions....I'd be happy to share! For now, I'll just list the most salient ingredients in each course.)

1. Amuse Bouche #1: Oyster Shooter
Vodka, Kumamoto oyster, tomato juice, tabasco, & horseradish

2. Amuse #2: Brie and Crab
Brie, crab, cream, broth, served in a demitasse cup or other small cup.

3. Fresh Beluga Caviar

4. Fugu Sashimi
Usually thinly-sliced raw blowfish.

5. Lobster Bisque
Lobster, cream, cognac, spices, various soup ingredients.

6. Prosciutto Consomme
Prosciutto, spices, arugula, cantaloupe

7. Steamed Mussels with sausage and fennel
Mussels, sweet sausage, dry white wine, fennel bulbs, onion, crusty bread.

8. Antipasto
Pepperoncini, garbanzo beans, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, olives, pepperoni.

9. Baked tortellini
Tortellini, various cheeses, marinara.

10. Chenin Blanc sorbet

11. Roasted Quail with Chorizo
Quail, brioche cubes, chorizo, spices.

12. Chicken & Straw Mushroom Stir Fry
Chicken breasts, straw mushrooms, broth, sherry, spices.
For a true last meal, use Paddy Straw Mushrooms, which are often confused with the poisonous mushroom Amanita phalloides.

13. Steak Au Poivre with Frites
Strip steaks, potatoes, Dijon mustard, spices.

14. Roquefort Pear Salad
Lettuce, Roquefort cheese, pears, pecans, dressing ingredients.

15. Pastry-Wrapped Salmon & Watercress Mousse with Champagne-Chive Butter & Potatoes
Salmon, Watercress, cream, scallops, puff pastry, champagne, etc.

16. Cheese plate
(Compose this from your favorite cheeses and fruits/jams. Pick a theme, like 3-4 cheeses from a single country.)

17. "Fried Milk"
Milk, eggs, spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) and flours.

18. Ice cream
A small scoop of a complimentary flavor.... try something that combines creaminess with other flavors. Don't go too nutty, since that is the next course, though combinations of creamy and nutty flavors could work very well.

19. Nuts
A mixture will be best. Even a store-bought mix should be fine, as they are easy to find and usually include a satisfying mixture of nuts.

20. Petit Four(s) and 21. Coffee/tea
Tiny cakes served with a nice cup of coffee or tea
I don't have a specific recipe here, but look into what you can find locally. Dragonfly Cakes makes some very nice Petit Fours, and coffee is very dependent on your personal taste.

This is probably a bit overboard, but....Enjoy!

Gimmie something that is dangerous to eat, like blowfish. If I die from eating it, it doesn't really matter.

I agree with having something extravagant. I would go with an array of steamed crab legs. King , Dungeoness, Snow and of course a Maine and Rock lobster tail with drawn butter. Then maybe as an interlude some habachi shrimp and veggies. Then perhaps some General Tsos Chicken. If I had any room left I'd switch over to I talian food and start working my way through all the pasta dishes I could think of. I mean hey If I'm getting the needle I might as wel!!
Then for dessert I would have a full boat of sushi. Fire cracker rolss lobster r.olls, spicy tuna rolls ect..., And to drink, a big bottle of expensive Austrian Cbernet and a extra large Pepsi. Then if theyd let me Id smoke a big joint and a half a pack of Newports take 2 or 3 ten milligram mvaliums and listen to some Pink Floyd and some Led zeppelin just to get ready.

I would ask to have last meal of peanuts so immediately after eating them I would go into an allergic anaphylactic shock and then have to be revived again before they killed me by whatever means they had chosen to use.

Just exerting one last measure of control.
It would only make sense they just let me die right there in the cell but I would assume to be civil they would be required to revive and treat me so I was just healthy enough to be put to death via execution a few moments or minutes later.

I'm not really allergic to peanuts but I would sure wish to be if I were to find myself on death row.

I'd have to request the following: a dozen Rocafella oysters, a few dishes from Pei Wei, collard greens and a Vodka & Pineapple to wash it all down with. Why not :)

When you are executed, your body lets go of retention of waste. They offer you a last meal to humiliate you when you die. How big a mess do you want to make is the real question. I’d pass, I’d fast those last days.

I would start with 2 dozen raw Bluff oysters (N.Z), then some deep fried Camembert cheese, for the main course i would have young spring lamb cutlets, grilled with new potatoes minted, and young green beans. Dessert would be a piece of homemade cheesecake with lime gelato on the side. I would start the meal with a bottle of the best French Champagne, and with the main course a memorable Red. even if I won't have much time to remember it! Finish off with expresso coffee, and after dinner mints.

I would like something extravagant, why not? Calories would no longer matter. Something like lobster with garlic butter, wild rice, fresh vegetables and a thick slab of yellow cake with chocolate frosting. A glass of Italian white wine with dinner, and a really good cup of coffee with dessert
