If you were in prison for life given a half gig mp3 player, what would be on it?

I would also put music on it; mostly accoustic music, probably a few classics as well; like the Beatles, ABBA, Foundations, those kind of classic songs.
10 songs that would HAVE to be on it would be:
1. A Walk Through Hell - Say Anything
2. Only Exception - Paramore
3. When the stars go blue - Tyler Hilton
4.Weak In the Knees - Serena Ryder
5. Speechless - The Veronicas
6. The Call - Regina Spektor
7. The Good Kind - The Wreckers
8. The General - Dispatch
9. The Fear You Wont Fall - Joshua Radin
10. Falling Slowly - Glen Hansard
And depending on how much more space I would have left I guess I would want a book maybe, I really enjoy Les Mis, so maybe that book on tape, or I guess some prisons have librarys and I could just borrow the book there.
Good questions, really makes you think!!

M$This wouldn't take up that much space though, the rest would be filled with hours of drum and bass so would could have dance parties.

M$I would rather have a few high quality tunes, than a ton of mp3 junk. The MP3 version of the song is not the same as the original CD song because some of it has been removed.

M$Pick any of the following links and press the play button on the page you get. (I was a top-40 DJ from 1990 to 1993, right when the big hair bands were big and right when the "Lite-FM" format began--we had one of the first stations in the country on that format in DC. Below you'll find my original playlist recreated, with newer things that fit in added (Maroon 5 being one), my Lite-FM playlist and I'm a big Sinatra fan, so you'll find GA Swings, a bunch of Rat Pack stuff heavy on the Sinatra (or people singing him). You'll also find Club GA, a piano bar thing--piano, cabaret, pop songs done in a jazz format...
Some of the "songs" on the lists are just separate entries for either voiceovers or sweepers (transitions in between songs) or bumps ( little mini-promos that go in-between songs, like the one from Club GA that I've attached):

Club Gary Allen Piano Bump
Man: Listen to this...you like?
Woman: Nice!
Man: Aww...
Woman: Thanks for listening!
Or the phone-dialing "Music by request" bump, found somewhere in the playlists, maybe more than once.
All 100% free, no strings attached, just press play and it will stream forever...I've fallen asleep at my desk at home to wake up to it.

M$Same here. Although not YOUR husband's voice.. that'd be creepy.
Definitely voices of family, friends and loved ones.
Sadly the reality of the situation is that 1) it's unlikely lifers could have access to MP3 players (depends on why they're there and State or Federal laws where they're incarcerated) and 2) the guards would, can and do confiscate personal items periodically so unless those voices/songs are available to be downloaded again after a hopefully successful lawsuit against the prison (rare), you might have a cool MP3 player but nothing on it.
That would suck.
,after read, then download
my whole life will end in knowlege

M$The first set of songs I would love to have in my mp3 player would be some of the songs I recorded with my family. They are about fifteen songs and every member of my family has a part in one or more of the songs.
Another set of songs would be inspirational songs and gospel songs, like those of Moen], Cece Winans, Women of faith and Ron Kenoly. I believe I would want to be closer to God at a time like that.
