If you were diagnosed with a terminal disease, would you try any alternative remedy to beat it?

If conventional medicine didn't work, would you be willing to go to another country for a chance to live?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, but only if there was no other options. I am a big believer in using medicine and therapy that has been put under trials and tests to determine if it works or not.

If I was to take some alternative medicine I would heavily research it and only attempt it if I figure that it is safe. If I'm going to die anyways I don't want the medicine's side effects to do me in rather than the disease.

As I am of age, and can make informed decisions for myself, yes I would seek alternative treatment. I would have to research, and be knowledgeable of the pros, and cons, of both traditional treatment, and alternative treatments. If it was for a child, or minor, who can not make these kinds of decisions, I would probably choose traditional treatments. Taking risks for yourself is one thing, taking risks for a child that depends on you, is completely different.

If it were my child, I would try every conventional method, but if faced with losing my child, I would try anything.

No I think I would just accept my fate and it is now my turn to go. If I was young and had that choice then yes I would take it as my life would be in front of me.

I have a friend who had breast cancer, and she stayed alive for 5 extra years by taking experimental treatments. During most of that time, she was able to work and provide for her children. If she had given up, she would not have seen here daughters marry or her son graduate college, or her two grandchildren born.
