If you have God of War 2 is it worth buying God of War 3?

Is there enough of a difference between God of War 2 and God of War 3 to justify the additional purchase.
If you think there is, what new functionality is there then that people should be aware of so they will want to buy the new version?
Tip for best answer: M$0.26
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This answer deserves a definite "Yes". If you own the original God of War 2 for Playstation 2, and enjoyed that game, you'll be blown away by God of War 3. I've played God of War 2 only as part of the God of War Collection, which is already an improved version of the original game, you can still see the 'original' footage in some cut-scenes, and then it shows the enormous progression the graphics of games has made in those few years.

In God of War 3, everything is bigger, better, more smooth, and more epic. The game is longer than both God of War and God of War 2, and many details have been improved.

For me personally, the biggest improvement (besides of course the increased graphics) is in the details. I'm always having trouble remembering which button is where, so when it comes down to those Quick Time Events, I always fail them, because I'm too late, or pressing the wrong button. In God of War 3, the QTE buttons are positioned along the screen, indicating the location of the button! EXCELLENT!

It is small things like this, that ensures me this God of War 3 is not only the biggest and baddest of the series, it is also the most mature one, gameplay-wise. They removed everything that was annoying in the first two games, and improved on all those great things that we all love.

So, yes, definitely a must-buy, whether you own God of War 2 or not.

As an example of what I mean, check out the video below, where Kratos battles Poseidon. Don't watch if you don't want any spoilers though..

Hello @bestpay
Since I’m a fan of this series obviously my answer is YES! Besides the fact that as of today this is the last episode of the God of War Series, and the plot is amazing, in God of War 3 there are some improvements. First of all the game was developed for PlayStation 3. Therefore the graphics are improved. In this game Kratos can fight against more enemies at the same time. The limit was increased to 50 as far as I know. You will be able to use more weapons, perform outstanding combos and meet some of the characters from the last games. Overall in God of War 3, Sony Computer Entertainment added everything they missed in the first episodes. They improved the gampeplay to the max as far as I can tell and the story-line was developed to make you start playing all the games again and again, while you wonder…Is it really over?
