If you have an outdoor dog, what do you do with his/her droppings?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

We have a half acre lot and we live in the desert. We just let the turds dry out in the sun. We do encourage the dogs to go as far from the house as possible. If they go closer, we move the turds with a shovel to the farthest corner of our lot. The turds dry in the sun in less than a week. They turn to dust in about a month.

When we are away from home we have plastic grocery bags with us to pick up the droppings and put them in an outdoor trash receptacle.

We dig a hole and clean up the dog poo once a week. Considering as the dog poo dries it becomes hard, it's dust can become airborne putting fecal bacteria into the air. So just like a human when you they go camping, a hole is dug and then when finished the hole is covered. We figured this would work atleast a little with dog droppings.

Well, you can't put them into the compost pile, so I guess I'd throw them into the garbage. What else could you do with them?
