If you have a Spider in the house do you A) Scream and run, B) Kill it, C) Capture it and let free outside or D) Something else
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

(update: I have left my banana spider alone and she's doing well out on the back deck)
My sister on the other hand is very afraid of spiders. I once visited her at her new house and she came running out of the bathroom without any clothes on. She had been taking a shower and a Daddy Long Legs was in there with her.
I had to rescue the poor spider from my screaming sister.
So, to answer your question, I guess it would depend on the maliciousness of the spider.
If it was a Black widow or Brown recluse I'd have to smash it.
If it's a Daddy long legs, I'd just help him out the door.
If it's a tarantula, I'd just get a cage and call her 'Suzie'.

M$Couldn't resist this image:
First, I see it.
Then either squish it, or sometimes get a piece of paper and let it walk on, and let it out of the house to the great outdoors.
I often remove them for other people in a house, because they are scared of them. No, I don't laugh at the people. :)
They don't scare me (I'm a girl) :)
But I wouldn't want a bite or anyone else to have a bite from an unknown poison spitter! They can be serious. Swelling, fatal allergic reaction, etc.

M$According to this T-Shirt, you're probably more dangerous to the spider than it is to you!:

funny. I'm still laughing at your new pet Suzi. reminds me of the kids and their 1 day pet ant farms. until they had to be released back outside for the ants sake! :)
Thanks for the update on the Banana Spider, I had been wondering what had happened there.
Now why can't we have Spiders like this one:
