From 8 until Midnight ever night I would run horror and science fiction movies. Each week, I would have a different theme that would link all of the movies. ONe week would be a Vincent Price week. The next week would showcase the Universal Studios Monsters. The following week might involved 1950 and early 1960s cult alien/space man movies from directors like Roger Corman and Ed Wood.
The only original programming on the channel would include commentary by myself, or other classic sci-fi/horror lovers that would run before or after certain shows or movies (kind of like on AMC). Another original show would be one that highlighted super collectors of memorablia that encompassed science fiction or horror.

M$Remember when that channel played music videos almost exclusively?
I *like* watching television commercials.
If I have a TV channel I would use that older style of MTV format to keep TV commercials on my channel all day every day. I would use a lot of the format from MTV with a daily and weekly Top 10 TV commercials, Top 100 TV ads of all time shows and real CJs between shorts commentating and announcing what was on and what was coming next.
An endless supply of content would be and is being produced daily by advertising agencies to be used on other channels.. an *endless supply of content"... for free! Hey Mr. "I make a widget guy" can I show your television ad on my channel a lot? Tell me any ad company would so no to that.
Shows like 120 Minutes on late night would be recreated but with adult content TV commercials or another more obscure and fringe type of advertisement instead of "alternative music videos". Headbangers Ball? not anymore how about metal themed TV ads instead or TV commercial where metal music was used as the promotional song.. maybe call that "Sell Out TV on TV" (not that I think of that as a "sell out" but I know many people do). A web voting and call in based Top 10 list show in every category of television commercial would be on the table for production if the demand was there. Yo! ADTV Raps! would be fun to rename and recreate in the future on my channel.
Then, Martha Quinn. Now? Kathy Griffin.
Then, Adam Curry. Now? Ben Stein.
Then, Downtown Julie Brown. Now? Fat Stacks Lewis Black
Then was then. Now? The possibilities are endless.
Celebrity guest hosts and appearances especially if that actor, actress, politician(?), or celebrity of any type got their start doing TV ads or somewhere along the was like many actors and actresses today crossed over to the TV ad world after becoming successful in other areas of TV or movies.
Even a game show similar to the MTV offering from back in the day "Remote Control" with Ken Ober? and maybe his cohort from way back then Colin Quinn would be interested in running and producing a new game show with TV commercial as the basic theme.
And the best part? I would hope to get my channel picked up by all cable/satellite providers in the US and the world and also hopefully each cable/satellite provider would allow subscribers to prorate their monthly bill down in direct accordance to the amount of time my TVADTV channel was on in their household.
Watch more of my channel? Pay less for cable or satellite.
Watch enough of my channel and get cable or satellite for free!
And the over the top possibility?
Actual product promoters and manufacturers vying for and actually paying for valuable AD space on my channel that is dedicated to showing only popular, fringe, funny, classic, or obscure, etc. television commercials. Ad agencies calling me up trying to negotiate prices for ad space! Wow that would be cool. People paying good money to put an AD on a show about ADs!

M$While I love your answer...you lost me at Kathy Griffen. If I could give you half a vote, I would ;-)
Thanks for the support anyway :)
Of course all of the celebrity CJs I mention are only options and if I were ever to have an opportunity to do this I would hire an marketing consultant, PR firm, a new business image consultant, and whomever was needed to make sure I offered these jobs to the right people and in the right way to better insure they would accept the position.

M$All Toon: This a network devoted to the cartoons of the past, and will also show animated films as well. Think Cartoon Network before it became all about new shows, and live material.
Rerun TV: Couldn't think of another name for it, but that would certainly keep from straying from the original formula. Basically a channel devoted to reruns of the past decades of television, from comedies to dramas.
The Soapbox: A soap opera network, that airs the soaps of the past, both daytime and prime time, not just from the United States but other countries such as Australia.
As you can see I have given this a lot of thought, I guess it has to do with the fact that I am tired of how many cable channels that use to be great selling out (sorry there is no other way to put it). I use to love TVLand now its a shell of its former self, the same with Cartoon Network and the Disney Channel. I know these networks think they have to do this type of stuff for Demos, but to me it just ruined the channels and what they use to stand for.

A late night movie show with call in segments between the films and the commercials.

M$With that said, I'd create a channel that aired the best YouTube content. By best, I mean real creations (not slapstick videos) that make up a whole series. For example, there was a YouTube series a few years back titled "We Need Girlfriends" and it is still one of my favorite series ever.
