If you had to leave Mahalo would you miss it?

This is my third year homeschooling my son, who is ADHD. The curriculum we are using this year is new and is especially for children with learning disabilities and is very interactive which holds their interest. The down side to this is it demands a lot more of my time. I didn't really realize how much more of my time until this past week when I realized that I was compromising and cutting corners where my son, Mahalo, and several other aspects of my life were concerned. I realized that everything was suffering and I was not doing my best in everything I was doing.

This led me to make the decision that I needed to leave Mahalo and the Guru team and focus on what mattered most, my son. I'm really sorry that I let everyone here down this past month that was not my intention. I guess I was overwhelmed and did not realize it until I checked my gmail account yesterday.

So, anyway, my question is if you had to leave Mahalo would you miss it? Would you have regrets?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi there girlfriend!!! I noticed I hadn’t seen you around the Guru team as much. However, I can understand how family needs to come first. I am sooo going to miss you being active on Mahalo and the Guru team. We need so many more people like you to ask and answer questions in a fantastic manner like you do.

Now on to your actual question-If I had to quit Mahalo and the Guru team, would I miss it etc. Yes I would miss it horribly!!! I remember back when Mahalo made all the changes and stopped the majority of us writing pages, I was a wreck. I actually think I was in mourning for two days straight. Lol Mahalo has become my backbone since I joined up in February and I was having a tough time with the changes. When Corey brought out the Guru team, I knew I had to stay a part of it because it was with Mahalo. I also knew that at that time, I couldn’t apply for the full time Mahalo job, because I am still going to college, wouldn’t have the time. So I took what I could, the Guru team, and am hoping to be able to be accepted as a writer again after I graduate in December.

You are at a point in your life where you have to make some decisions and you have. You need to help your son right now and devote your attention to him and his schooling. Maybe as he gets older, you will be able to join us again at Mahalo Guru Team. You are a great asset to Mahalo and you are going to be missed horribly. Take care!! :-)

Such a sweet answer, @charray7! @shewolfsilver we support your decision 100% to be there for family when you feel called. You are a truly integrated and positive aspect of the Mahalo community, and I want you to feel happy and confident no matter what it requires you to do. Know that we're you're best cheerleadin' team no matter what you go through, and we'll be here to hold you up if you need a hand! High-five, coreymac

Thank you, Corey! You are a very positive influence here and you keep the moral high. You have inspired me on more than one occasion. I appreciate everything Mahalo has done for me. If it's OK I'd like to keep my account up and running so I can drop in.

Let me first say that no job is more important than my children, and the reason for my leaving my job (bricks and mortar) is for my child who has lupus, so I completely understand the situation. That said, I would totally miss Mahalo but there would be no regrets if it was for my child. If I were you I would probably ask Corey if you can take a leave so that you can care for your child and you will come back and do a few things in your free time. That way you would still be able to do what you need to do and not entirely give it up.
