If you had to add an ingredient to the famous BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato) sandwich, which one would you add and why?

I imagine some of you really struggled with what to take out of a BLT in my previous question, so I thought i'd best create a question about what to add?

What would your new acronym be for this new sandwich:
1) BELT - Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Tomato
2) BOLT - Bacon, Oregano, Lettuce, Tomato

Any suggestions welcomed, I think.

I've added $1, because I think for some of you this question might cost and you'll have to rush out to buy the ingredients for your sandwich!

Mmm, I would add cheese sauce. Any kind of cheese anybody wanted! I love cheese... and I'd call it the BL-"moo"-T. =]

It would definitely help the sandwich stick together more. Some people like to stack 'em high and they just fall right over.. with or without mayo.

Melted pepper jack sauce for me, thanks!

The one.
The only.
The avocado.
That is the only other thing I would add to an already perfect sandwich!

The BLOT! (You already took Bolt) ;o)

The "O" is for Onion! This sandwich would get a nice snap of flavor and texture from fresh onion, or you could prep them by caramelizing, sauteing, or grilling for other wonderful variations from sweet to savory.

Possible onion sides to bring in to compliment this could include, onion rings, salad, and last but not least French Onion Soup.

Seriously my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it!

Fried oysters. The Crescent City Brewhouse in New Orleans has a great oyster club sandwich. Adding fried oysters to a blt would also be a great combination. It would go with their schwartzbeer, which they call Black Forest, just as well.

* don't forget the Tabasco!

Oh, the acronym. That, I think, would be BLOT. Fried oysters seem to call for BLOT, as opposed to some energetic sounding BOLT.

Turkey! BLTT

Yumm, deli turkey in combination with a BLT makes a dee-licious sandwich! Ok, then it becomes more of a "turkey club" than a BLT...so how about some other options?

Swiss Cheese (BLCT)
Pickles (BLPT)
Tuna Fish (yummm...BLTFT)

Or, you could change the recipe altogether, and make one of my FAVORITE sandwiches from my childhood!:

Peanut butter, bacon, and apple sandwich!

Don't hate it 'til you try it.

A slightly less caloriffic turkey club (since I can't have the cheese, that's more than one ingredient)--the BLdoubleT. There's something about the wholesome goodness of turkey combined with the fatty sinfulness of bacon--like the fight between good and evil sandwiched between staple vegetables and bread.

This is absolutely hysterical...because I almost stopped on the way home to get the fixin's for a BLT...was tired and didn't feel like running to the market... and now just reading this questions makes me want to run out and get them anyway.... and that is the PERFECT picture of a BLT.... you are killing me here... lol... the only thing I might add to a BLT... because I think it is the perfect sandwich... is avocado, making that a "BLAT". Now I have to run to the market in the morning... hope I get the best answer... cuz I am going to have to go shopping tomorrow. thanks a lot lol

Well I did say in the question:
"I've added $1, because I think for some of you this question might cost and you'll have to rush out to buy the ingredients for your sandwich!"
I knew somebody would do this! Just for you, here's another BLT picture:

If that isn't enough to satisfy your hunger for a BLT, try this recipe for a Dawn's BLT Pizza, honestly this is only for Dawn's:

BLT's are one of my favorite sandwich's. If I could add any ingredient to it, it would have to be a thin slice of swiss cheese. Melt that over the bacon and add tomato toast the bread yummy !!

I bet alot of people add cheese.. but me, being odd likes to add cucumbers so I guess BCLT in either case

I also like to add a large amount of freshly ground pepper and salt to the tomatoes
BSPLT which looks like something on a reciept from an ice cream parlor (banana split)

My first thought was avocado, and then I thought cheese, and then I thought pickles, but in the end I'd have to say.... some plain baked lays to give it some extra crunch. If you've never put some potato chips in your sandwich you really must try it!

I would add avocado or a slice of sharp cheddar. When you make it, though, don't forget the importance of the bread and the actual construction of the sandwich. You need a slice of bread thick and/or dense enough to hold its own with the other ingredients and if you aren't careful with your stacking, tomatoes will shoot out the other end when you take a bite. :)

All those pictures are making me huuuungry!!!

Guacamole because the texture is creamy and lumpy. The ingredients are complementary and melt in your mouth along with the traditional BLT ingredients. Nothing goes better with bacon and tomatoes than quacomole!
