If you don't have a store bought sled, what household item(s) could you use instead, to go sledding?

Tip for best answer: M$1.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

We too seldom have snow and when we do it is only a dusting. But I have seen the following items used for sledding down slopes and hills:
1. extremely large plastic mixing bowls (for smaller individuals)
2. sleek bodyboards (designed for use at the beach)
3. plastic or metal trashcan lids
4. large square shovels with short handle facing forward
Happy Sledding!

No one in my city tends to own sleds because it snows here too infrequently, so it's common to see people on:

-Cookie sheets
-The lids to their trash cans (metal or plastic)
-Innertubes (actually probably the best)

Just keep in mind that cookies sheets and trash can lids tend to get bent (plastic lids also tend to crack).
