If you decide to be cremated after your death, what would you like done with the ashes?

I am fond of the idea of giving lockets with my ashes in them to my children and surviving loved ones. If my husband should pass on before me, I would like the ashes of my heart to be scattered on his grave(he wants to be buried) and the rest of me thrown into the Gulf waters.
Morbid question I know, but I'm curious.
Tip for best answer: M$0.50
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I doubt my friends or relatives would appreciate having a dusty reminder of me around
(heck, they barely tolerate me living!). ;)

Actually, I have considered cremation, and would like my ashes strewn
on the grounds of one place that, symbolically,
has given me a great deal of pleasure for the past 20 years or so:
my local tennis club. My ashes would be tossed on the side or back
of one such club which I have attended (survivors' choice), surreptitiously, of course,
without any crowds or health concerns or zoning laws getting in the way
(i.e., what nobody knows won't hurt them!).

Unfortunately, your very specific wishes might be very expensive for the morticians' services,
not to mention the various zoning laws, especially to have your ashes tossed in the seas
(yes, your heirs might get away with doing so without such,
but, if they get caught by the Coast Guard or similar without the proper permits,
it could mean fines and even imprisonment!).

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have always been fascinated by ancient Incan societies. I hope someday to make it to Lake Titicaca between Bolivia and Peru where they believed that life began. If not, my children know that's where I want my ashes scattered!

I have an insurance policy...my wishes are covered...heh heh. I was always taught to plan ahead. Perhaps it's what makes me ask this morbid question, I like what you said about having your ashes strewn about the grounds of a place you loved and were at frequently. Good job!
