If you could perform one song with one band or musician (dead or alive) which song would you choose and with what band?

We’ve all wondered as we blared our iPods too loud, “What would it be like to actually perform this song?!” My dream song and musician would be Float On with Modest Mouse. It’s such a great song that is still relevant today and is a blast to sing at the top of my lungs in the car (while others stare at me and wonder if I’m having a seizure). Or I would love to perform Defying Gravity with the stars of Wicked. I’m not sure I can keep up with singers of that stature but I’d have a lot of fun trying!

Very good question! One of my favorite songs is My Way by Frank Sinatra and it would have been wonderful to have sung it with him in one of his many live performances. He sang the song with so much meaning, and I have tried to closely duplicate that when I sing karaoke.

I sang it Karaoke to a packed house at a restaurant in Paris where someone had thrown a party for us on our honeymoon. As I handed the mic back, a little old man with a bushy mustache rushes me and plants a kiss on my lips. A kid runs up behind him. "This is my grandfather. He's from Italia. We're all from Italia. He says you're just like Frank Sinatra!" It took me a second to realize why. I had asked for New York, New York, a song I know up and down, all the way down to the exact way he sang it--but the place in Paris didn't have it,. The only Sinatra he had was "My Way," which, at the time, I hadn't really been familiar with. The words were on monitors about 12 feet above the floor, around the edge of the room. Under the monitor I was banking on getting me through the song, there was another honeymoon couple. I'd actually stepped off the dance floor into the middle of their 60-seat U-shaped table so I could see the words--but they thought I was singing right to them. I think the man that rushed me was the grandfather of the bride. The whole table was on their feet as the music played out, so I walked over to the table again and made a sweeping gesture around the table with one arm. The whole place was on its feet.

Now after years of illness, injury and recovery, I've decided that as cliche as it may be, I'm probably not the first, but my tombstone will read "I DID IT MY WAY."

I would sing with Cold play and I would sing the song Fix You. I sing it like I have talent in the car and in my house, but the chance to sing with them even one time would be a dream come true for me. I think they are one of the most talented bands ever. I find their songs uplifting and happy and they touch me every time I hear them. Even when the song is sad it makes you feel the love behind the words.

So I know they would not have me back for a repeat performance, but if I was given a chance that is who I would choose. I have added a video so you can sing along with it too. This one song for some reason makes me feel bitter sweet and the break in his voice is perfect. The entire song is just perfect in my opinion. So Watch out Cold play I want to sing with you.

I have been a fan of David Bowie since I was 11 and the album Heros came out. I still think that entire album was so ahead of its time.

I have also looked up to Bowie as a musical mentor during my years of singing and playing guitar and performing. I would be honored to sing Heros with him.

I would love to sing "Somewhere over the rainbow" with the late Judy Garland, I believe everyone at one point or another goes through a time where they are searching for meaning or longing for something more from their life, I feel this song speaks of how we feel as we are going through those times. "Someday I'll wish upon a star & wake up where all the clouds are all behind me, where troubles melt like lemon drops & way above the chimney tops that's where you'll find me....
"Somewhere Over The Rainbow"
Love & Light...

I would sing "Don't Get around Much Anymore", performed with Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. This is pure perfection. I'd know I had died and gone to heaven.

I would have liked to do "You Don't Love Me" as the Allman Brothers did circa: 1969-1970. Ala the Filmore Concerts. The band was at its peak and the crowd knew the concert was something spectacular.

If i had to pick band to perform with, that band would be koRn. This band is my favorite band of all time. The lead singer Jonathan Davis has a awesome voice in my opinion. The band overall just has such intense on stage presence and such amazing energy, I just would love to be on the same stage with the band, or just Jonathan Davis him self. A lot of people consider them "nu-metal", whatever they might be, they are doing the right thing, i don't see how 30 million albums sold and 10+years of playing can lie.

Oh!! Awesome question!

I would choose to sing with Stevie Nicks, she is my inspiration, if I were ever to become a singer I would cover all her songs, and follow her around until she sung with me! (Creepy I know hehe)

I think she has a such a beautiful and unique voice, and you can really feel emotion when listening to her. She has the type of voice that sends chills down my spine when I really get into listening to her songs. When the whole room is silent and nothing is going on around me.

And to top if off I feel fairly confident I sound pretty good when I sing along with her...My friends have agreed...maybe they are just being nice, but I would like to think I'm just good. :-D

If I had to choose one song I would pick Gold Dust Woman....I have loved this song since the first day I heard it, I really get into singing this one and it would be an honor to sing this along side Stevie...

Here's the video (my favorite one at least) Song starts at about 45 seconds....

I would perform "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer because I know all of the guitar and lead vocals pretty well. Weezer Rocks. =]

If I could choose one person to perform with I would actually choose two people! My first choice would be Lady Gaga, she is just an amazing woman all around, fun style not scared to put herself out there and her music is killer! The other choice would have to be Marilyn Manson. I think Marilyn Manson is the greatest artist of his time( again this is all my opinion). He has never been afraid to express himself in anyway he felt comfortable. Even when everyone had something nasty to say about him, he would not let it get to him. Despite what some people think about him he is a very awesome, smart man who just puts on a show! So if I had to choose it would definitely be Marilyn Manson or Lady Gaga, but probably more likely to be Mariyln!
