If you could live one day in the life of a historical figure, who would it be and why?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If I could live one day in the life of historical figure, I would choose to live the life of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, the woman who is considered "The Living Saint." I would like to know how she spent her day in the service of other people. How she lived so free selflessly. I definitely would grab the chance for I want to feel and think the way she does. She is full of compassion and sympathy and live in the service of those less fortunate. I think it takes courage and a lot of love to be able to do this.

At risk of being chastized I would say...

Adolph Hitler. I would want to know how someone could get a whole world as shaken as he did. How his charisma tricked a nation into thinking they coul conquer the whole world? What could drive someone to commit the atrocities he was responisble for? What goes through the head of a guy that will forever be remembered in history? Even at the time he had to know that his name would become notorious as one of the most evil men to ever walk the globe.

My second choice would be Edgar Allen Poe.

Martin Luther King Jr, August 28, 1963

I would want to give the speech. I consider it to be one of the greatest speeches of all time, by a great man and at the perfect point in history, for one of the greatest causes. I listen to it often, the entire speech. I do not yet have it memorized, but it wouldn't be a bad idea.

"I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation....."
