If you could have personally witnessed one event in history, what would you want to have seen?

I would have just stood there for a long time, staring at my surroundings and then stared at that bright blue and brown globe with a white cap on top called Earth, which is My Home.

M$I would want to be the only one with a clear picture of what went on. While I might not gain the information as to who actually shot Kennedy, I would have the best chance of knowing what actually happneed than anyone else present for the event (outside of the shooter or shooters).
Wen the event unfolded, poeple scampered around trying to figure everything out. Reality became a jumbled mess of sounds, sights, and people. There were points that people would have blown off as unimportant that I might be able to pick up on. There are faces that might have gone unnoticed that I might have a chance to see.
Remember that when a scary event unfolds quickly, the brain races the put as many pieces together as possible. As a spearate observer who knew at least some of what to expect, my mind would be in better shape to put more of the pieces together than anyone present that was cought offguard.
With simple research, iw ould know where to stand, where to look, and what to look for. I would have a leg up on all of the researchers into Kennedy's assassination. I would return to the present, figure out how to explain how I knew what I knew, and have a chance of blowing the lid off of one of the most popular events in human history. I would become The Man without having to beat The Man!
