If you could design a video game yourself, what type of game would you create?

Let us pretend you have all the knowledge needed and can write a program. What type of charters would you include? What would be the environment your game was set in? Would you game be a cross between Mobsters and Sims? On the other hand, perhaps your dream game is a where Mafia Wars meets the old west in Frontierville?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would like to see a game similar to Law & Order SVU or Law & Order CI. There would of course be detectives, a victim, suspect, and the actual criminal. This game would involve picking up on clues (just like detectives do) to solve the case, with each case solve you move to the next level. Each level would get a little more difficult with some clues intentionally leading the detectives astray. And perhaps the ultimate level would be riddled with multiple cases to solve.

Another idea I have is to create a game where a princess is locked away in a dungeon, guarded by a man who can morph into a dragon. There would be several versions of knights with various talents to try to rescue her. There would be pitfalls, traps throughout the castle for the knights to contend with as they try to reach the princess and as they try to leave with her (should they make it to the dungeon).

Good question. I think I’ll focus more on a fantasy plot. The video game would be a RTS (Real Time Strategy) with several RPG (Role Playing Game) elements. I think 2 races fighting for survival on a single planet, but each race should be able to morph his units in new ones. Something related to the druids from WoW or the Zerg from Starcraft. So, basically the player will have 1 main race to play with and one sub-race that can be reached after a certain level, by transforming the units from the first race. Something like this:

You can build a mounted unit. After you reach a certain level through battles…you can upgrade that unit and the normal horse can become a unicorn while the rider can become a paladin.

Obviously the game will have the main characters that will follow the plot, resources and buildings.
