If you consult the Tao Te Ching, what translation do you find most meaningful?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

As Mr. Wu is a native of China his translation avoids the orientalism evident in most western interpetaions of the work.
It's not a book I would read cover to cover, but would pick a random page every now and then.

M$It's fine to read it in English as long as you feel comfortable with reading and understanding.
I do prefer English.
The most meaningful is the original language of Written Tao Te Ching by Lao Tze.
Unfortunately not many can use it to dive into the beauty of this amazing philosophical manuscript(book/poems).
On-line there are many (translators)trying to offer a proper translation ..hope they do not alter the originality of it.
