If you are multilingual, do you find yourself saying obscenities in one language even when speaking in the context of another?

This happens to me, I may be speaking Spanish and if a situation transpires which provokes an obscenity or two to flow from my otherwise angelic and puritanical mouth, it sometimes comes out in English. This happens to me in the reverse order as well. It is sub-conscious in my case, I often do not notice I did it until I either catch myself doing it or I get some unusual looks from the people around me.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

No.. though I find when disciplining our son.. I tend to slip into German for some reason and honestly I'm not even what I would consider fluent. I learned what I know primarily from living there. My vocabulary could use expansion. I also tend to speak it more when I've been drinking.. that I think has to do with how much I drank in Germany XD...I've never been ashamed to swear however.. so I suppose it doesn't surprise me that I stick to English. lol
