If you are an agnostic, what would it take for you to believe in God?

I am Catholic and have been all of my life. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day (she is agnostic) about religion. Actually she likes to spar with me. I don't mind and it is never ugly when she comes at me. I asked her this same question and she had a hard time answering.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Faith is believing in something that is unseen. In order for someone who needs to "see before they believe" then it will take an unexplained act or miracle to occur in their lives before they are convinced there is something greater. Those who have faith don't need convincing, those without faith need something tangible. The irony? Usually those who have faith are the ones who get the miracles.

The reason why I am agnostic is because I don't believe in anything that cannot be proven scientifically. There is nothing that would make me believe in something unproven. However, if scientific evidence of God was found, I would be forced to re-examine my views.
