If vampires were real and you fell in love with one & wanted to spend the rest of your life with him, would you let him turn you?

Think fiction here. But would you want to be a vampire as well, so you could remain a young couple in love forever. Or would you accept aging (while he stays young) and eventually dying, leaving him behind?

Okay, I'm a "low fantasy" reader so I'm digging your vibe.

And yes, I think we've all (meaning all us fantasy readers) pictured ourselves as Bella Swan at some point. And YES, if I found true love in a vampire, I would want to stay with him for an eternity, absolutely. The idea of growing old and frail in front of him, and then losing him? It would be suffocatingly unbearable.

The actual turning part would be terrifying of course, but if you have a true love guiding you through it and helping you to bear it as best you can, then I think I could do it. Check that, I know I would.

The whole vampire part? Freaky. I don't even like hunting. But I like meat. Hrmm. I think I could make the adjustment just fine and learn to thrive in my new lifestyle. It wouldn't be easy. But for love? There's very little I wouldn't conceivably do for true eternal love, don't you think??

Thanks for your answer. I have a 10-year old with an active mind, who is very much into vampire stories right now. He was wondering out loud the other day and prompted me to ask this question. :)

This is a tough question. It depends on what is true about vampires. Can they live off of animal blood alone? I would never ever want to harm a person.

However, if I were truly in love, then I could want nothing more than to spend eternity with the person I love. As long as he shared my beliefs about not killing people.

Oh yes, I can live in the dark of night just fine. Being a very fair skinned, red head night is always a much more romantic time. I can swim in the moon light with the one I love and if I became a vampiress I would feel wonderful and be able to enjoy fun for the rest of my life.
As for blood food, well there are a lot of ex's out there I wouldn't mind offing with one good bite!

Well it wouldn't be a "he" turning me. But if there was a she I was in love with offering to turn me I don't know what I would do. On one hand eternal life sounds cool, on the other there is a ton of people in my life that I would have to watch grow old and die.

Also not to diminish a love felt but honestly its hard enough for people to stay together for 10 years now what makes anyone think that love can last a lifetime + an un-lifetime? After a hundred years would there be anything new? Not to mention if you are a religious person you would be damning your soul.

I am not saying any of these things are my opinion on the matter just thought crossing my mind. I would turn into a vampire but not for love as the sole reason.

I wouldn't want to live forever, however I wouldn't want to make the love of my life watch me die slowly either. If what he truly wanted was to turn me, I'd allow it as love is often sacrifice.

Heck Yes! I would love to stay young forever, become beautiful, build my intelligence, have an everlasting love. I would be all over it! I love Vampire books...so it is definetly part of my fantasy world...I would be fast I would get my revenge on those who have hurt me and I would work hard knowing I could eventually get everything I wanted and needed and then some.
