If the U.S. election was tomorrow, would you vote for Obama?
Why or why not?

Absolutely! . . .
(Probably)
I know that it is a bit of a Non-answer, but an election is a comparison of two people to see how we stack up in beliefs. I am a moderate and as such rarely find someone who is totally in line
My key touchpoints.
Pro-choice: Yup I am very pro-choice. None of the governments business IMHO.
Obama: Is OK on this one, he is also pro-choice but not as firm about it as I would like.
Pro-Gay Rights: Yup go for it. Marriage, Adoption, Medical Benefits for Same sex couples.
Obama: A wash, he does not support a constitutional amendment against gay marriage, but has done nothing in support of it. Wants to repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell which is a step in the right direction.
Anti Spending: Is it so wrong to believe that the government should earn interest rather than paying interest with tax payer money?
Obama: *Sigh* Fail!
Anti-tourture - Wiretaps: If you give the government too much power they will abuse it!
Obama: Another one where on paper he agrees with me, but is not strong enough about shutting down programs. In fairness part of this is trying to bridge with conservitives.
Based on the above I voted for him last time. I nearly voted for McCain, that is until he toughened up on abortion and picked Sarah Palin as a running mate. If you compare her stances to mine you will find we are almost complete opposites.
So if Obama runs against a Moderate Republican I may vote against him, but I predict they will find someone who is strongly pro-life/anti-gay rights to attempt to energize the evangelical base.
