If someone is fired, how easy is it to get another job?
Economic climate completely out of the equation here.. I mean how do employers see it? I've never been fired thankfully I'm just wondering
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It depends on why you were fired, and what the future employer learns about the reasons for your being fired.
For example, if you were fired for stealing, or for being incompetent at the job, it'll count against you. If you were fired as part of a general downsizing, that won't matter at all. Unless they get the idea that you were singled out for firing during the downsizing because you were one of the least useful employess, rather than say because you were one of the newest hires, or one of the most highly paid staff members.
These days, there probably aren't many people that have never lost a job, so it doesn't count against people the way it might've done decades ago.
Often enough potential employers relish the chance to pick up good staff that are on the market because of having been let go elsewhere.

Two people I knew were fired from a major company for having NSFW stuff on their work laptops. But they got jobs in another major company within a month or so (two different companies). No issues. So I guess nothing goes into the person's record, unless it was a serious issue involving external law enforcement authorities.
