If someone has trouble on their homework, should they ask it on Mahalo?
I could see Mahalo being used as a homework help site, or at least a little bit. Should kids ask homework question on Mahalo? Have there been a lot already? I don't see very many homework questions being asked usually. Should we post problems just for fun too?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, I've seen quite some kids ask homework related questions on Mahalo, especially with math, and I ususally try to answer them.
It's good for my own brain, to see if I can still figure out how the solution should be constructed. I always try to not only give the answer, but more importantly, how I got to the answer, hoping the kid will learn the reasoning, instead of just getting the answer.
Did you know we even have a 'Math Homework" and a 'Homework" topic? You can find them right here:

Enjoy!
