If one were to audition for a comedy commercial with no previous acting experience, how could they play it off and get the role?
In other words, how would the aforementioned sell themselves to those conducting the audition. They have one small previous experience, but besides that, no agency and no training. They're desperate for money! What tips would you give them?

I would suggest going with your instinct. Comedy is an interesting genre, someone with a multitude of experience could be totally dead on stage, while an amateur could reach their audience quite effectively. If you do not find something amusing, chances are not many others will. Do not try to fake the humor, just allow it to come to you naturally. Pushing will just make your performance seem contrived and tense.
