If my mother went into labor with all of her kids early, will I?

My mother had me six weeks early, and my brothers four and two weeks early, respectively. I am currently pregnant with my first child--should I expect to go into labor early, too?

It really depends on what your mother experienced when she was pregnant, I had two of my children early due to pre-eclampsia which my daughter also experienced with one of her children, however all of my children were not early and I did not experience pre-eclampsia with the other children and I have 7. So I think that it can be hereditary to have problems which could be experienced by both you and your mother, however it is mostly a matter of what your body can handle and how it responds to problems that may be hereditary.

Every Pregnancy is different, so it is possible for you to go into labor early, but not necessarily because you were born early. I have 2 children who were both born 2 weeks early to the day and am currently overdue with my 3rd child. so it all just depends on when your body is ready.

I do not think that would apply to you at all. I do not believe it is an inherited trait. I have heard of this happening especislly if the mom is under a lot of stress or the baby has no more room to grow in the womb. So, I believe you will be just fine.

Congrats !!
