1. Enough money so I can work when I WANT, instead of needing to work
2. The rest of my tuition, insurance and car payments (yes for the rest of my life, ok...at least for a couple of years) would be paid off, because $5000 out of pocket, a year, for part time tuition - out of my $20K salary is starting to hurt...a lot, add to that my $1000 a year car insurance. Also $500 a month from my husband for the car payment is getting hefty (the car was his idea, not mine -though I must admit, I like the car very much).
3. A house, right on the outskirts of town, that doesn't need work, and a second house somewhere...anywhere that is warm outside during the winter, perhaps India. :o)
4. A week long paid vacation (any longer and it can be tiring ... depending)
5. K...this is going to sound stupid b/c I haven't been this kind of person until I gained 10 lbs (since highschool...it's only been 8 years!, K in retrospeck it's probably not so bad, a couple of my friends gained at least that much, a couple of them much more). I would like time off of work and school, perhaps a month or so, where all I do is work on losing this 10 lbs (I know 5 of it is from taking birth control). K, so it is about how I look, but the big thing is I can't fit into my clothes anymore, and I don't feel like buying more clothes. It took this long to get my wardrobe the way I want it (as I only buy things on clearance, it's not always in season. :o)

On an off note, I think I finally understand what my cost of living is:
Yearly:
~ Net Wages:$14K
MINUS
Tuition: ~$5000
Car Insurance: ~$1000
Groceries:$2000
Random Auto Service/expenses (w/employee discount): ~$800
Gas: ~$800
Alcohol: ~$500 (just what I buy, this doesn't include what my husband buys)

Leaves me with ~$5000 a year, before miscellaneous, variable expenses, like text books, birthdays and Xmas. :o)

This year I had to go to Physical Therapy too, my insurance only paid for half of it! Grrrrr.

K, enough ranting. I have to admit, as materialistic as the world becomes during Xmas, I am thankful that I am healthy (someone please knock on wood - last time I said this and didn't...I got a little sick), and that I am able to go to school and work. Without my husband paying to other bills, I wouldn't be able to go to school, because rent, car payments and miscellneous expenses wouldn't allow for even part time school, and most of all that I am never too far from food or warmth or love.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Well mainly what I want for Christmas isn't monetary.
But for arguments sake....
1) My house paid off.
2) College prepaid for 4 years worth of credits.
3) A Second house, so that I could give it to a friend of mine.
4) My friends hospital bill for her daughter paid.

That's it, I really don't have much need for anything monetary like I said before.

It was a silly question to your silly response. :o)
"Well mainly what I want for Christmas isn't monetary.", but you need money to pay for everything on your list, noble as it may be. :o)

Well that's a sill question, you cant... That's why I have a job and work. My mortgage will be paid off in 28 years making my payments, for college I am borrowing money from my dad (with interest), and my friends hospital bill well I don't know how she will pay it. Insurance will cover some of it but otherwise she is going to have to make payments and deal with bill collectors I am sure.

This is a hard year for us so my 5 things are:

1) A new house that doesn't have any issues that our current house has.

2) Gifts for my kids for both the holidays and their birthdays. Ones that we actually pick for them.

3) The money to start a costume business (and to actually see it take off).

4) Time away from my oldest sons therapies so that we can get the chance to travel a little.

5) The money for travel so the kids can see a little more of the world.

Oooh, what a nice fantasy :D

Number one on my list would be the cash we need to finish our adoption proceedings. We're waiting for some grant money, and it probably will come through, but it'd be nice not to have to wait! I'm Mahalo-ing to boost that fund, too, hah!

Next, I'd love to have the money to finish our patio in the back yard. Gravel is not so much fun. Plus if I didn't have to worry about money, I'd put in really nice patio pavers, cobblestones or something instead of the cheap ones we're waiting to go on sale in the spring. And hire someone ELSE to actually do it!

To be selfish about it, new clothes! I haven't bought anything new in just over two years now :(

Along that same vein, some new clothes for my husband, too. We've actually bought him newer stuff - or, rather, I have, for gifts and the like, but he goes through work shirts pretty rapidly.

Last, I think I'd splurge on some kind of really beautiful art for our home. Our walls are pretty bare at the moment, partly because I love original art and am kind of fussy about it (and it's expensive!). No one famous or anything, but there are some larger pieces in galleries I've seen lately that I'd love to have but couldn't handle the price tag.

1) A cure for amyloidosis.
2) Miracle surgery for my husband so he could walk again.
3) Stand at the entrance of the local mall and hand out money to strangers. Catch their reactions on video.
4) Travel the world with my son.
5) I'd pay to see all the troops come home. I'd pay so there wouldn't be any more lives lost. I'd pay to have peace on this Earth---no matter the cost.

Its hard to answer. I thought about what I truly want and money does not buy any of them:

1. The Love of My Family and Friends 2. Respect of My Peers 3. Courage to Make the Right Choices 4. Patience and Persistence in order to reach both my Personal and Professional Goals 5. The Forgiveness of others who I have hurt.

I guess it is true. Money cannot buy you Happiness.
