If Jesus believes in unity, then why can't all the denominations of Christianity come together as one?

I would think that if there is one denomination with the "true," or "righteous" philosophy, they would ultimately be free of all stubbornness or hesitance that would keep them from spreading their love around the world, and have the most enlightened leaders to reach out and make things work. Then the unity should happen. Either that, or they should all admit that as human beings, we as spiritual factions, or individuals, really don't know what a Higher Power wants; if it's god, then god willing, will do what he or she wants, and you can't predict it. Who am I to say that some people actually are spiritually enlightened to the point where the person has had a conversation with God, or a higher power? I'm not. But nobody has proved it. In your response, feel free to roam.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This is a messy subject. Religion lives in the realm of the irrational. Believing something with no evidence is irrational. Believing in a God that would punish someone for not believing in Him because there is no evidence is irrational. Thinking a cracker turns in to physical flesh or that wine turns into blood upon consumption is irrational. Thinking babies go to Hell if they aren't baptized fast enough is irrational.

These people do not think in a rational matter, so they will never be unified. They each have their own absurd deviations from their poorly written sacred scriptures and will disagree until the grave over them because their parents taught them to do so. The virus will continue to spread for eons. They are arrogant because they presume to not only know the will of God from some bunk story book but because they also cherry picked the parts they like to make their modern Bible (and even cherry pick from the parts they kept!).

Your question brings up basic issues with all religions, not just denominations of one religion. In order to answer your question, one must presuppose that there are "spirits," that there is a "God," and that humans know the will of this God.
