If I were to buy one new pair of shoes for this summer, what style should they be?
I’d like to buy one new pair of fabulous shoes for Summer 2010. Based on the projected trends for this summer, what style shoes should I buy? Are there any must-have shoe styles for this season, or are there trends in skirts or pants that require a certain shoe style to pull them off? What are the trends in fabrics, leathers, or colors that I should keep in mind? Are there any designers that are leading the way with shoe trends for the summer?

ONE pair of shoes for this Summer? Impossible. However, if I had to choose TWO that may be possible but VERY DIFFICULT. As a devout shoe shopper, here is my personal pick:
A must-have shoe - Skecher's Shape Ups. The sandal are fabulous and it really does feel like your legs are getting a workout on the go! This shoe also encourages the wearer to workout and look fit for summer.
Fashion flair has it that wedges are back! Love them. Found a beautiful pair of neutral color black strap wedges by Derek Lam. Shoe of the summer -helps slim and trim the legs.
Not to be ignored - Ballerina flats with adorable oxford-style laces (comfort on the run)
Backless clogs with wooden platforms
Earth-tone suede sandals
- I'm SO imspired to go shoe shopping - See Ya!

Awesome recommendations. I had heard about the Sketcher's Shape Ups, but found the sneakers to be a bit boring looking. The sandals are definitely more interesting and less "obvious". LLBean Signature line also has a great pair of neutral leather wedges with cork wedge that I am also seriously considering.
