If I send someone a UgottaBkidding form, what processing fee should I charge?
Unless I misunderstand, a company is not required to send you a 1099 unless you earn more than $600 from them as an independent contractor, and hence they don't need a W-9 from me.
Am I wrong? I earned thirty or forty bucks from an online company. When I requested a payout, they e-mailed me a W-9, saying I needed to "digitally fill out the W9 form that is attached to this email, print it out and either scan it and email it back to me or fax it to us."
I've never had this when working as an independent contractor for epinions. If they are legally supposed to do so its hard to see how I can object. If not, I've been told to send them a UgottaBkidding form (UB 1000) and require they fill it out and send me a twenty five dollar processing fee. Is the fee amount current?
