if I live in southern Indiana where can I go with my friends and boyfriend to survive 2012?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I recommend the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth, IN.
You see, there is no need to run and hide because there is nothing to be concerned about. I don't say this condescendingly, because I too have fretted over this very doomsday prediction to some extent. What with the movie coming out and all, it's easy to get scared.
But the important thing to remember is that there is no real, scientific reason to think the world is going to end.
Yes, that is when the Mayan "Long Count" calendar ends. But Mayans never noted that the end of the calendar meant the end of the world. To them, it may have meant the end of an age, or end of a cycle. Nothing more.
Now some doomsday folks have been digging for any astrological or historical significance they can attach to the Mayan calendar ending and date. Some quote the lining up of the sun in the center of the Milky Way galaxy....except that the alignment doesn't perfectly line up in the year 2012 (it's just close).
Another theory suggests a pole shift - shifting the magnetic poles of the earth. But remember, this can happen ANY day. We don't need to wait for 2012, sadly. But here's the deal, a shifting of the poles would take a million years or more, and there's nothing to suggest 2012 will trigger the process.
Remember, predicting the "End of Days" is a very modern Western culture idea. Mayans weren't calculating the end of days. This is all hype, and I promise you, nothing to panic about.
As I've heard it expressed, picture that you're writing in a diary and you've filled up the book. That doesn't mean you die, it means you grab a blank diary and keep writing.
So go out. Have a nice steak (or pasta) dinner at a beautiful restaurant like the Overlook. Toast the Winter Solstice and celebrate life. You will be just fine come 2013.

Yet another reason you should be President. A restaurant solution to a possible (highly unlikely) end of times apocalypse. Just awesome.
Thanks budda! I hope it's a good restaurant recommendation. Their website looked pretty nice! :)
