If I have an older Mac can I still get iLife?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Depending on how old your iMac is, you can still get versions of iLife on your computer. However, you may some issues getting the older version of iLife especially if the Mac OS on your iMac is very old. The current release of iLife is iLife ’11 which is released to work with iOS10.6. You can find a list of iLife versions and their compatible OS on the Wikipedia page here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILife) under “Releases and History”. That being said though, you might have some luck using newer versions of iLife on older versions of Mac OS, although you might want to note that the new versions of iLife made for the Intel computers might not work on older Macs still on the G4 processors.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to find old versions of iLife available for download for free. The Apple store does not provide any free trials of old versions of iLife. All Macs are shipped with iLife, so if for some reason you have had to replace the hard disk on your iMac or you had to reformat your hard disk, all you have to do is to pop the Mac install CD back into your iMac and it should re-install iLife.
If all else fails, you can find used copies of iLife on sites such as eBay.
Good luck!
